VERTIC’ALPS

Experience
from the field.

Two disciplines, a shared understanding of installations

Since 2012, Vertic’Alps Expertise has provided independent inspections of leisure equipment, with a particular focus on acrobatic activities.

In 2015, our Engineering activity added to this experience: zipline calculations, structural design of leisure installations and their foundations, fabrication and assembly documents.

Two disciplines drawing on practical knowledge of installations, their use and the constraints faced by those who build and operate them.

An independent perspective

Our work is to examine, understand and explain our reasoning. Documents set out the assumptions; the field shows how they translate into reality.

We produce supported findings, explain deviations and share our risk analysis. Assessment frameworks structure our approach; experience also helps us identify situations they do not describe.

From the most widespread equipment to the unusual cases, every assignment adds to this perspective.

From the field to standards

Our contribution to CEN and ISO standards development brings forward questions encountered at installations and lessons from their operation.

This commitment also extends to the SLA — Syndicat des loisirs actifs, where François Bonnardot, an honorary board member, oversees standards monitoring and accident analysis.

Understanding what happens on site, sharing lessons and helping practices evolve: this is also part of Vertic’Alps' work.

THE TEAM

People to talk to.
Field experience.

Let's discuss your installation, its constraints and the technical points to examine.

VERTIC’ALPS / 01

Simon Pellissier

Inspector and Consulting Engineer

A mechanical engineer by training, Simon travels the world for Vertic’Alps and proves that expertise need not wait for age.

Between assignments, he works his way through the crags of the Briançonnais, pulling hard on holds others are still trying to find. And when he does let go, it is to fly: Simon is also a paragliding instructor and a talented pilot.

VERTIC’ALPS / 02

Olivier Finet

Inspector

An engineer by training and a mountain leader, Olivier took groups trekking around the world before settling at Vertic’Alps. Our first employee and the team's senior member, he remains a committed inspector.

His tall silhouette and laid-back manner suggest that keeping up should be easy. Bad calculation. Once his feet leave the ground, it is time to seriously reconsider your ambitions.

VERTIC’ALPS / 03

Raphaël Cottin

Inspector

With a university background in health, safety and environment, a volunteer firefighter and a qualified mountain leader, Raphaël also has the highest number of inspections under his belt in the team.

Our Tom Sawyer grew up in the Chartreuse. If the world falls apart, that is where we will go to find him. With two stones and an Opinel knife, he could keep us going for a few years. Skills he also shares on his survival courses.

VERTIC’ALPS / 04

Sylvain Raïevski

Head of Engineering · Structural Engineer

After working for major timber-construction companies, particularly on public buildings, Sylvain landed at Vertic’Alps as an inspector before establishing our Engineering activity. His experience of leisure structures now makes him a recognised authority in the sector.

A paragliding instructor, he is as interested in the wind that lifts him as in the loads it imposes on structures. He always has a good idea for your projects — or for gaining altitude on a kite while you are still in bed.

VERTIC’ALPS / 05

Stéphane Acézat

Chief Financial and Administrative Officer · Inspector

Stéphane has worked in inspections for over 25 years. By now, he has carried out more checks than a police sergeant.

As Quality Manager, he also keeps an eye on administration and has a natural talent for scheduling. Successfully organising this team is already quite a reference.

Steady in his approach, he is the perfect partner for the Vertic’Alps adventure.

VERTIC’ALPS / 06

François Bonnardot

Founder and Managing Director · Inspector · Project Manager

Trained in natural-risk assessment and management, François came into leisure-activity inspection in 2007 through a series of coincidences. Chance took care of his career direction. Since then, he has preferred to leave as little as possible to it.

Versatile in his outdoor activities and within Vertic’Alps alike, he moves between inspections, projects and standards development, to which he has contributed since 2008. An honorary board member of the SLA (Syndicat des loisirs actifs), he oversees standards monitoring and accident analysis.

OUR PLAYGROUND

Rooted in the Alps, rarely in one place.

Vertic’Alps works in France and internationally, inspecting acrobatic leisure activities and carrying out engineering studies of their structures.

In forests, indoors, on mountain summits or tropical islands, we encounter very different installations, practices and operating conditions. Timber, metal, concrete; snow, moisture, sea spray: the field never runs out of challenges.

This variety shapes our experience. It helps us recognise situations encountered elsewhere, question unusual solutions and share lessons from our assignments with our clients.
